About Maxidom company

Maxidom is a trade network of unique hypermarkets, offering more than 60,000 goods including home furnishings and building materials. There are seven stores in St. Petersburg, and one in Nizhniy Novgorod at present.

Our first store was opened on October 6, 1997 on Grazhdansky prospect and just in a month it became one of the most popular stores in St. Petersburg. At first people visited our store not only to do their shopping there but also to have a look at the amazing store – clean, well-lighted, cozy and amazing its customers with its rich assortment as well as its amiable sales-assistants.

The popularity of the project was also fortified by the data of an opinion poll, held in December, 1998. Only for the period of one year “Maxidom” managed to reach a very high level of popularity with a very large number of its customers. According to the results of the opinion poll, 40% of the pollees visited Maxidom store, 35% did their shopping there and 13% preferred to do their shopping only in Maxidom.

Our second store is the result of hard work of the best designers and constructors of St. Petersburg. The project engineers have managed not only to implement very interesting architectural ideas, but also to take into consideration our first customers’ wishes. “Maxidom” on Moskovsky prospect was opened on July 8, 1999 and almost at once became as popular among our customers as Maxidom on Grazhdansky prospect.

Our third store was opened in November, 2002 on Leninsky prospect.

October 2004 was marked with the opening of our fourth store. Sinсe then it has become even more convenient for the residents of Primorsky region to do their shopping. One can visit a new spacious store on Bogatyrsky prospect in the vicinity of “Pionerskaya” and “Staraya Derevnya” subway stations.

In December, 2006 the fifth «Maxidom» was opened on the crossroad of Vyborgskoe wosse and S-Pb Ring Road. The assortment and range of services are similar to the previously opened hypermarkets, but there are the considerable distinctions. Firstly, it is the largest DIY-hypermarket in Russia. Its total area is about 20000 m², the selling area is about 15000 m². It is remarkable, that this store was built in only 9 months. Essential increasing of areas allows opening the new commodity department «Large-dimension building materials» and considerably extends the area of the department «Garden products».

On the 14-th of July, 2007, there was the celebration of opening the sixth hypermarket on Dunaisky prospect. Kupchino inhabitants had come to the square in front of the new store. Saint-Petersburg governor Valentina Matvienko came to congratulate people. She reminded, that «Maxidom» - is the first native network of DIY and home furnishing hypermarkets, and it celebrates its 10-th birthday this year». She marked the high social importance of the new project. «Inhabitans of Kupchino now have the store with a broad assortment of home furnishing» - she noticed.

On the 18-th of January, 2008, «Maxidom» opened the seventh store in Saint-Petersburg. There is also the distribution center that let to decide logistic and transport problems.

In October, 2006 Workline Research (COMCON-SPb) company carried out a regular wave of their market research, which results evidenced high level of popularity of «Maxidom» trade network among residents of St. Petersburg. In particular, the results showed that 98% of St. Petersburgers know about Maxidom stores, 87% visit them often and 76% do their shopping in Maxidom stores regularly.

We are constantly increasing the share of domestic goods in our assortment besides the share of imported goods so that our customers could find everything they wish. In each of the 24 sections of our stores one can find the best Russian goods at reasonable prices.

Rendering of high quality customer services has been our number one priority since the first day of our work.

We also provide information services to our customers. In each section of our stores there are PC connected to the Single Information Center. All imported goods are provided with detailed user guides in Russian. Sales-assistants are ready to give our customers detailed information on each item of the assortment.

We render services on goods delivery, sanitary engineering installation, furniture assembling, floor coating and even curtains tailoring. Our specialists shall match any of the 15 000 tints with the help of our tinting machine.

“Maxidom” customers have an opportunity to have a snack in our cozy “Vitamin” café. At our customers’ disposal there is also a currency exchange office, automated cash-machine, WC, coin-operated telephones as well as free-of charge guarded parking place.

We highly appreciate our regular customers. Every customer, whose one-time purchase amounts to not less than 1000 rubles, receives our discount card with a permanent discount.
